    Busan RISE Committee

  • Busan RISE Committee
    The highest decision-making body related to promoting RISE in the region
    • Committee Composition
    Co-chaired by the Mayor (ex officio) and a university president (elected), with participation of diverse experts from Busan City, the education sector, and industry* (at least half from education) * Local governments (city, city council, education office), 22 regional universities, industry (chamber of commerce, employers· federation), innovation agencies (RISE Center, BISTEP, BDI, TP, etc.)

  • Purpose
    To lay the foundation for a region·industry·academia·research-linked university innovation ecosystem where the region and universities can grow together, ensuring successful promotion and outcomes of Busan’s RISE in 2025
  • Key Contents
    • Integrated Support System Build a support system for the development of regional universities and society
    • Efficient Resource Utilization Share and cooperate with resources and information held by each institution to create project outcomes
    • Strengthen Expertise Leverage and support the expertise of each institution to amplify synergy effects
    • Sustainable Network Prepare a sustainable and effective local community support system
    • Shared Responsibility & Roles Establish a responsible cooperation system to achieve common goals

    BPRA(Busan Public Rise Alliance)

  • Purpose
    Build an integrated support system among local governments and related regional institutions to ensure smooth operation of the Busan-style • RISE (Regional Innovation-led University Support System)'
